Signature Analyst is a predictive tool for intelligence analysts that overlays geographic information with political and social data. It combines a variety of data, ranging from information about road networks to recent insurgents attacks, to extract patterns and warnings of future events. It also provides specific geographical and time predictions associated with future events, such as bomb attacks or political events. “Signature Analyst is a proven intelligence asset that has been used to support counter-terrorism missions around the world,” the company says in a brochure describing the project. “Military planners rely on Signature Analyst to help find high value targets, identify weapons caches and safe-houses, and to disrupt enemy networks.” The company says Signature Analyst is used by a variety of military clients, and is approved for use on a classified Defense Department system known as the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System.
